Tonya Wheeler is Executive Director and a founding board member of Advocates for Recovery (AFR) in Colorado.  She is a Level III certified addictions counselor and has been in long-term recovery since 1990.

Wheeler is a trainer for such topics as Recovery Oriented Systems of Care (ROSC), Science of Addiction and Recovery and Peer Recovery Coaching.  She serves as an Advisory Board Member for the Central Rockies Addiction Technology and Transfer Center, and a recovery advocate on the Colorado Behavioral Health Planning & Advisory Council and the Colorado Behavioral Health Transformation Council.
