Salmeri is the Director of the StepUP® Program at Augsburg College in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the largest residential collegiate recovery program in the nation. She also serves as President of the Association of Recovery in Higher Education.

Salmeri is a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, holds a Master’s Degree in Human Development and serves as an adjunct faculty member at Augsburg. In 2011, Salmeri was appointed a fellow of the U.S. Department of Education’s Higher Education Center for Alcohol, Drug Abuse and Violence Prevention. She is the recipient of The Kitty Harris Lifetime Achievement Award for Outstanding Contribution to Collegiate Recovery.
