Alexandre B. Laudet, Ph.D., is an internationally recognized expert in addiction recovery and the founder and Director of the Center for the Study of Addictions and Recovery at the National Development and Research Institutes, Inc. (NDRI). Additionally, she provides training and consultancy to U.S. federal agencies, such as the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), among others.

Her federally-funded research focuses on elucidating what helps people with drugs and/or alcohol problems quit drinking or getting high, while initiating and sustaining recovery. Her primary goal is to build the science of recovery, utilizing services and policy which remove barriers to and create opportunities for improved lives and long-term recovery from addiction.
